On October 1-2, 2024, the delegation of the Polish Academy of Sciences headed by President Prof. Marek Konarzewski took part in the annual Visegrad Group Academies Forum this year organized by the Czech Academy of Sciences in Prague. Participants of the meeting discussed, among others, recent changes in the Academies, knowledge transfer, reform of the research assessment, and security in international scientific research. Much attention during the debates was devoted to the issue of the unfavourable proportion of women in the V4 Academies of Sciences. The Forum was concluded with a Prize ceremony and presentations by the laureates of the Young Researcher Award, which this year was conferred in the field of “Contemporary Social and Economic History.” The winner of the Polish part of the 2024 competition was dr Piotr Kuligowski from the Institute of History of the Polish Academy of Sciences.
